25 Feb Celebrating Sisters
I’m bringing you two for one today. I made the two cards featured today with sisters in mind. I understand the close bond of siblings as I have that kind of closeness with my big brother.
Both cards feature floral images. The first card was made with the Sweet Gardenia digital image from Alex Syberia. I colored it with Copic Markers and it took me a while to get it colored. WOW! It was difficult to color and at first, I didn’t like my coloring job at all. So, I let it sit for a couple of days and then when I went back to look it again, it wasn’t as bad as I initially thought. Coloring this flower was the first time I used my Shock Pink (RV04) copic marker. After much debate I decided I wanted the flower’s background to have some personality and possibly ink it with Distress Ink. Then I decided instead of masking the image I would fussy cut the image out, spray it with Iridescent Glitter Dust and place it on top of a stamped and embossed background.
So, I first stamped the You Matter, Simon Says Stamp background stamp onto a piece of white cardstock using Moonlight White , Brillance Ink and then embossed that background with Judi-kins, Clear Detail embossing powder. Next, using the Blueprint Sketch, Distress Oxide Ink I colored the entire background applying the ink with a Spellbinders Blending Brush. I mounted the Sweet Gardenia to the You Matter background and matted it with a piece of glossy black cardstock and then Fairway , Stardeam Metallic 81lb Text cardstock.

I used a sentiment from Iris-Inspired Stamps, Family Set for the inside of both of today’s cards which celebrates sisterhood. The inside of the card is pictured below:

For today’s second card I used one of the stamps from Simon Says Stamp, Daisy Bouquet stamp set and diecut sets. Again, I colored the image using Copic Markers. Once diecut, I sprayed it with Iridescent Glitter Dust and then used a Sakura, Quickie Glue Pen and Lemonade, Art Glitter to add some additional detailing. I hid the fact that the stems were off center by using a larger sentiment on the front of this card then I did on the Sweet Gardenia card. The front sentiment on this card is also from the Iris-Inspired Stamps, Family Set.

I stamped all the sentiments on both cards in Onyx Black, VersaFine Ink and embossed them with Judikins, Clear Detail embossing powder. Again, I matted the front panel with glossy black cardstock.
Per usual, the pictures don’t give, the sparkle the cards have in person, justice but I haven’t figured out how to get the Bling to show in pictures. If anyone has any ideas about how to show the sparkle effects in pictures please let me know.
That’s all for now. Until next time:
Stamp Yourself Happy!
