01 Jun Pastor Appreciation Card
I was recently asked to make an “Appreciation” card for a Pastor, and this is what I produced. I wanted it to be super “Blingy” but never could get the effect I was hoping for even though I tried several different things. I stamped and heat embossed the Hero Arts, Leafy Vines Stamp on Sapphire, Stardream Metalllic 105lb cardstock. I stamped it with VersaMark Ink and embossed it with white embossing powder.
Although I liked the result, I wanted it to sparkle. First, I tried Diamond Stickles on top of the embossed image which added some sparkle but not as much as I was hoping. Then I tried to make my own shimmer spray with water and Perfect Pearls, which didn’t turn out very well. Finally, I sprayed it with my go to Iridescent Glitter Dust, by Thermoweb.
Not ready to give up on sparkle yet I used a Simon Says Stamp, Cross diecut set, that is no longer available, and diecut 2 crosses. The inner cross I covered with glue and then Great Impressions, Sparkling Ice Glitter and foam mounted them both to the card front. I embossed sentiment stamps from the Stamp Simply, Pastor Appreciation Greetings Set on both the outside and inside of the card.
So, now I’m trying to figure out how to get the “Bling” effect I want on embossed images. If any of you have ideas, please let me know.
Until then,
Stamp Yourself Happy!
