01 May My Awakening!
I started my Card Blog over 10 years ago and a few months ago I lost its entire content. Cue the tears! Needless to say, I was devastated and the thought of starting over has been overwhelming and daunting to put it mildly. If I am being honest, I did not want to start over and initially said that I wouldn’t, but my big brother Bill encouraged me as always to do it again. I didn’t even know where to start and so I haven’t for a several of months.
Meanwhile, I’ve searched and tried to dig up all the pictures of cards I’ve made over the last 10 years. I enlisted my brother, who has been my greatest card muse, to take pictures of the cards I’ve made for him. He of course, kept them. And finally, I think I’ve gathered enough pictures to reproduce a decent sized gallery.
Next, I had to decide how to approach my new Card Blog. Do I just make a card and post it or should I have more structure to my blog this time around. Starting over can be difficult, it’s hard to go back and redo what has already been done. So, I got to thinking and decided I didn’t want to just restore what once was, instead I would see this as an opportunity to do things differently, and in some ways, perhaps better. So, I have come up with a plan and I am finally ready to begin.
I am choosing to remain positive and face the unfortunate events with optimism and look at it as an opportunity to add several things and shake things up in my cardmaking world, and perhaps finally try some new things. As such I’m calling this an awakening or a revival of sorts. I am not going to just replace or repair what I had before. Instead, I’m going to make improvements, replace certain things, and strengthen the condition of others. And I’m determined to have fun while doing it.
So, I invite you to come along for the ride with me because no one wants to travel alone. Leave comments and share your own experiences and ideas and until next time:
