10 Jul Friendship Cards
My Bestie has a beagle looking dog that she treats as if she birthed him. She puts clothes on him, talks to him as if she expects him to answer, and she sneaks out of the house to avoid upsetting him. I laugh hysterically because it seems so ridiculous to me. “Rambler” truly runs her as well as her household.
Her dog’s name is “Rambler”, but he goes by “Ram”. I call him “The Pampered Prince” because a dog NEVER had it so good. He graduated from Obedience School but never practices anything he supposedly learned. He wears a coat in the winter, and I don’t mean his God-given coat also known as fur. He whines or barks to get his way. The dog is too much. He was returned to the shelter three times before she picked him. I’m convinced he saw her walking in the door and said to himself, “She’s the one.” and proceeded to lay on his charm. LOL.
I’ve had my Crazy Dogs and Crazy Things stamps and diecuts for several years and decided it was finally time to use them. So, with “Rambler” and his mother in mind I made my Bestie and her “son” each a card.
For the first card, I stamped two of the dogs from the Crazy Dogs stamp set with Memento, Tuxedo Black ink and made a mask for each. I used Mowed Lawn and Broken China Distress Inks to create the background that mimics grass and the sky around the masked dogs. I colored each dog with Copic Markers (specific markers used listed below) and stamped them again using VersaFine, Onyx Black ink and embossed them with Mystic Fire embossing powder. Before mounting the card front I sprayed it with Iridescent Glitter Dust by Thermoweb to Bling it out. Unfortunately, in the pictures you can’t see the sparkling Bling that the card has with the glitter dust.
For Rambler’s card, I used three different sized circle diecuts from the Spellbinders, Standard Small and Large Circles sets to create the cutout layer of the card front. I used Broken China, Bundled Sage, and Mustard Seed Distress Inks to create the cutout backgrounds.
I stamped the beagle looking dog from the Crazy Dog Stamp set in my MISTI and colored it with Copic Markers (specific markers used listed below) leaving the stamp in place in the MISTI. I stamped the same dog again after it was colored using VersaFine, Onyx Black ink and heat embossed it with Mystic Fire embossing powder. Next, I fussy cut each of them out. Then I stamped the Crazy Things accessories: Hat, Bow Tie, Sunglasses, Graduation Hat and Diploma colored them and afterward stamped them again and embossed them just like I did the dog. I used Diamond Stickles to add some Bling.
I typed the captions and the inside sentiment for Rambler’s card on my computer and printed them out using my laser printer so I could foil them with my Minc Foiling Machine.
Rambler is one lucky dog and I guess I’m now one of his subjects too since I’m making him cards. LOL.
That’s all for now. Until next time:
