03 Mar Forever Friends
Today’s card is a celebration of lifelong friendship. A friend recently reminded me that we’re getting up in age. In other words, we are old. But no matter what, we’ll be friends the rest of our lives. What a Blessing!
Both the sentiment and the imagefor today’s card are from the now retired Art Impressions, Dare To Be Fabulous stamp set. I’m leaning more toward humorous cards recently because I’m finding I need more laughs these days. I decided on using a patterned paper for the card background instead of creating one of my own or using a plain mat. So, I used colors in the background paper to choose my colors for the image.
I colored the image with Copic Markers. Then I masked the image and inked the background to create grass and sky using Mowed Lawn and Broken China, Distress Ink. When I finished coloring the image I stamped it again with Versafine, Onyx Black ink in my MISTI and embossed it using Judikins, Clear Detail embossing powder. Next, I mounted the image to a piece of Early Expresso, Stampin’ Up card stock cut out with one of the Memory Box , Wrapped Stitched Rectangles diecuts.
I stamped the sentiment in Onyx Black, Versafine Ink and embossed it using Judikins, Clear Detail embossing powder. Then I cut it out using the now retired Stampin’ Up, Word Bubble Framelits. I mounted it above the image using foam dimensionals.
The stopper sentiment is from the Penny Black, Treasured Sentiment stamp set. I stamped and embossed the sentiment just as I did for the sentiment on the card front. I matted it with Stampin’ Up, Early Expresso card stock and mounted it to the inside of the easel card using foam dimensionals.
I added bling to the image by using a Takura, Quickie Glue Pen with Lemonade, Key Lime, and Crystal , Art Glitter on parts of their clothing and the cane. In the close-up picture below, you can just barely see the sparkle of the green dress and hat trim, scarf, mittens and cane.

That’s all for now. Until next time,
Stamp Yourself Happy!
