15 May Collector No More
Let’s talk stamp storage for a minute. In my new craft room, I needed to store my stamps, so they take up less space. I kept my Thin Stuftainers to store my rearranged cling mount and photopolymer stamps. Then, except for my Stampscapes Stamps, I unmounted all my wood stamps. I put the newly unmounted stamps on Acetate sheets with Tack N’ Peel. After discovering that my beloved Thin Stuftainers had been discontinued, I put the acetate sheets of unmounted stamps in 9″ X 11.5″ Scrapbook.com Storage Envelopes. And being the Type A person I am, I re-categorized ALL 1872 of my stamps labeling each stuftainer and storage envelope that stores them as well as the respective shelves they’re on and re-inventoried them to their new locations in my “MyStuff2Pro” Inventory App (which I LOVE) so I could locate them easily. It was tedious and time consuming but necessary. Yeah me!
It has been my pattern to buy card making tools in anticipation of using them and then proceed to never use them. And even though I like to think of myself as a “collector” of card making stuff my brother would call me a “hoarder” of such things. Tomatoe, Tomahto. And before you judge me, look in the mirror because I know that I am not alone. Wink, wink.
When changing my craft space I discovered a ton of stuff that I had never used. My initial thought was, “what a waste”. But it is only a waste if it continues to go unused. Therefore, I made a list stamps, diecuts, stencils, various tools, etc. that I have never used along with a list of card types and techniques that I have always wanted to try and merged the two lists.
Now, I am going to go down the merged list and create cards to share with you, thus ending my days of being merely a “collector” or “hoarder” depending on whose term you prefer. The good news is that if executed correctly I should not need to buy any new “stuff” until I have made significant inroads down the list. (My husband will be thrilled.)
So, come along with me on my journey and LET’S GET STARTED and in the meantime:
Stamp Yourself Happy!
