24 Feb Birthday Poppies Background
Today is a coloring variation of the Simon Says Stamp, Poppies Background Stamp I used a few weeks ago. And I’m so honored to report that this card was just chosen as one of the Weekly Favorites on the Splitcoaststampers community forum.
For this card I again used Copic Markers but this time instead of blacking out the background I colored it blue and the poppies yellow and coral. I’ll list the specific colors I used below. I didn’t come up with this color combination myself but saw it used by Amber Rain on her Notable Ink blog.
The Copic Markers used were:
Poppies: R12, R22, R24 / Y32, YR02, E93
Leaves: YG03, YG63, YG67
Background: B02
After coloring the image, I stamped it again with Onyx Black, VersaFine Ink and embossed it with Judikins, Clear Detail embossing powder. Then, of course, I sprayed it with Iridescent Glitter Dust and matted it with black glossy card stock before mounting it to a 6X6, Crystal, Stardream Metallic 105-lb card base.
For the sentiment on the card front I used the birthday sentiment in the You Are Everything, Betterpress plate and diecut set. I hot foiled it using the Glimmer, Gold Hot Foil then diecut it and created a shadow using black glossy card stock. Finally, I mounted it to the card front using foam dimensionals.
The sentiment on the inside of the card is from the Iris-Inspired Stamps, Birthday Set and is pictured below:

That is all for now. Until next time:
