14 May Birthday Photo Pop-Up Card
Today’s card is the Birthday Card #6 of 7 for my brother’s birthday week. It is out of order because I was asked to mask the pictures, and it took a while. Today’s card was FUN to make and was not too challenging to make but you do have to be intentional with each step, so it all operates correctly.
For the card front I used Crystal Stardream Metallic 105lb cover and Flame Stardream Metallic 81lb text cardstocks to create the left side and then used Simon Says Stamp, Acetate for the remainder of the card front. The back of the inside cardstock can be seen through the front on its right side because I changed my mind about having the card front clear. I created the age using the Modern Serif Alphabet from My Favorite Things and cut additional letters that I stacked and glued together to add dimension to the card front.
For the card inside I used the Karen Burniston, Photo Collage Pop-Up mechanism. I won’t go through the step-by-step instructions for how I put the card together because she has several videos explaining the steps and you can view them by clicking these links: Photo Collage Pop-Up Card and Photo Collage Assembly Tips & Tricks.
However, I will say that I created the background print that the collage mechanism sits in front of and I’m quite happy with how it turned out. To make the print I used Hammermill Digital 100-lb Cover white cardstock, the Birthday Balloon Duo stencil set from Studio Katia, and Distress Oxide Ink colors: Antique Linen, Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet, Twisted Citron, Salty Ocean, and Spiced Marmalade. Once I had everything inked, I sprayed it with Iridescent Glitter Dust.
I made captions for some of the photos by printing the caption with my laser printer onto vellum cardstock trimmed them and sprayed them with Iridescent Glitter Dust too before attaching them.
I am so happy with how the card turned out and he REALLY seemed to like it. The card inside can be seen below as well as some photos trying to relay how the pop-up mechanism collapses and opens up. I definitely recommend giving a photo collage pop-up card a try.

Until Next Time,
Stamp Yourself Happy!
