05 May Balloon Birthday Card
Today I’m revealing Birthday Card #3 of 7. Balloons remind me of birthdays for some reason and so I decided to use balloons on a card. In years past I’ve made a balloon shaker card and other stenciled balloon background cards for his birthday, so I decided to layer balloons this year to create a card with more depth.
His favorite color is orange so I used Flame Stardream Metallic 81lb text cardstock for the background and matted it on a 6X6 Crystal Stardream Metallic 105lb card base. Next, I used various colors of Distress Oxide inks and inked white cardstock. The Distress Oxide colors I used were: Squeezed Lemonade, Wilted Violet, Twisted Citron, Salty Ocean, and Picked Raspberry.
Then, I used the Pinpoint Balloon stitched diecuts from Poppy Stamps to cut out various sized balloons in the inked colors. I stacked them by gluing them together and then inked the sides and added black string. I mapped out the balloon placement on the card front and then adhered them. I added Bling by spraying the card front with Iridescent Glitter Dust and then added confetti with glue for addition interest.
Next, I had to figure out how to add a sentiment to the front and decided to add a large sentiment to the inside and used a small banner to the outside created by embossing a small stamp from the It’s Your Birthday stamp set from Studio Katia onto vellum.
For the inside sentiment I used the Great Big Happy Birthday sentiment stamp from Stampendous. I stamped it in Memento, Tuxedo Black ink and then used a Copic Black Multiliner and Copic Sketch Markers to color it. Once done I stamped it again using VersaFine, Black Onyx ink and embossed it with Judikins, Clear Detail embossing powder.

Until Next Time,
Stamp Yourself Happy!
