08 May New Start, New Space
How does the saying go? When it rains it pours. That is what it feels like lately for me and crafting. I had to move my Crafting Space from the basement to one of the spare bedrooms on the main floor of our home. The room that will now be my crafting space is much smaller than the space I used in the basement. I’ll show you the pictures of both spaces in a minute. I would say I downsized but the only thing that got smaller was the space not the amount of stuff going into it.
It took me a while to determine what stuff I really needed in my new space and figure out how to arrange it. Right away I determined that I simply have TOO MUCH STUFF and not surprisingly much of it has NEVER BEEN USED. As crazy as it may sound, I apparently have been hoarding crafting supplies: stamps, inks, markers, dies, punches, embossing folders, paper, adhesives, embellishments etc. for quite some time. Who knew? Don’t judge me because I know I am not alone.
My new space is pictured above and since then I have put MDF board on the floor because the room has carpet and I didn’t want ruined by inks. Also, it allows me to roll from place to place in my chair.
I am extremely Type A so everything had to have its place and I needed to have everything labeled, inventoried, etc. LOL, I know a fellow card maker who is the exact opposite. We could not exist in the other one’s craft world.
And I am thrilled to report that I like my new space better than the old because everything is more compact and right at hand when I reach for something. Who knew? Some change is GREAT!
So, there you have it, my New Space for my Reawakening!!
Below is a picture of my old craft space in the basement:
I will tell you about the “Game Plan” that I am establishing for this new space and reawakening next time. Until then:
Stamp Yourself Happy!
