08 Oct At The Altar – Wedding Card
Today’s card is a wedding card and I was kind of excited someone asked me to make one because I don’t make many wedding cards. I wanted a classic look to the design and so I went with Black and White. I also wanted it to look elegant so I used Crystal Stardream Cover 105lb cardstock because it has a nice finish to it and Black Glossy Cardstock that would add a little sheen appearance.
More than anything I wanted this card simple and clean cut, so I finally used the retired “At The Altar” stamp by Stampendous which stamps really crisp and embosses nicely. I stamped it onto a piece of Stardream cardstock using Versamark Ink and embossed it using Judikins, Black Detail embossing powder which I love.
I stamped it so the wedding dress would land off the diecut paper it was stamped on. I stamped and embossed the image again and fussy cut out the wedding dress and bouquet so I could superimpose it on top. It looked rather plain, so I decided to use my favorite, Beaded Fanfare, embossing folder by Creative Expressions to create a background which I mounted onto black glossy cardstock.
Next, I stamped the sentiment using stamps from the Haute Weddding Dress stamp set from The Ton. I decided it needed something more on the left side of the card so I added black ribbon and a bow made using the Bow Easy. I love the Bow Easy and it really does make making bows of all sizes for cards easy, but I’ve only ever been able to find it at stamp shows.
I mounted the sentiment over the ribbon with foam dots and placed the ribbon underneath. I wanted to add some glitter to the dress for Bling but thought it looked better without it. I superimposed the wedding dress with the fussy cut piece so that it was over the ribbon at the bottom and was satisfied with the outside. I stamped and embossed the inside sentiment and was finished.
That’s all for now so until next time,
Stamp Yourself Happy!
