13 Aug Bestie Behavior
I decided to have a little fun and make some cards with stamps I have had for a while but have never used. Throughout the years I’ve bought some sentiment stamps that I find HILARIOUS, but I knew that I would probably never use them because they are slightly inappropriate. Plus, even though these sentiments are funny, at least so says me, they don’t really fit a particular occasion and would only be enjoyable to people with my same quirky sense of humor.
Today’s card uses stamps from Rubbernecker Stamps, now rebranded as Brass and Bliss Craft. The sentiment attempts to explain the difference between a “friend” and a “best friend”, and the stamp image brings it home with the baseball bat in the best friend’s hand. So funny. Truth be told I have some cousins who come to mind who were rebels in their younger years and probably could use this card for someone in their friend group. Shhh, don’t tell anyone I said that, even though they know who they are, I’m sure.
So, what does a baseball bat have to do with being someone’s Bestie? The sentiment from Rubbernecker Stamps is below and explains it clearly:
So, for this card I made the background layer using the Crafter’s Workshop, Mini Mod Spirals Stencil, and Mustard Seed, Faded Jeans, Worn Lipstick and Twisted Citron Distress Inks. I stamped the “Best Friend” Rubbernecker stamp with Memento, Tuxedo Black Ink so I could color it with Copic markers and then reinked it with Versafine, Onyx Black ink and heat embossed it with Mystic Fire embossing powder.
I diecut the image using the Loopy Squares, Gina Marie Designs diecut and mounted it to black cardstock. I inked and heat embossed the sentiment using the same as above and used Lawn Fawn, Large Stitched Square to diecut it.
Now, who do I send it too. LOL. That’s it for now.
Until next time,
Stamp Yourself Happy!
